I think the old maxim is true. Relationships either grow or they wither and die. I wouldn't see her buying a house as a threat. It represents security, especially to latinas whose priorities generally are (1)kids and (2)family, with (3)lover/husband a distant third. Securing the house for her children and family gives her the freedom to risk 'taking it to the next level', and you, my fortunate friend, appear to have an opportunity if you're ready to step up to the plate. Sounds to me like the messages are practical and clear. First, that she's gotten what she set out to get by working as a puta, and second, that time is running out and that, while she is interested in you, you need to either piss or get off the pot.
