I used the following method to make four trips from Asheville, NC to San Diego in 2000. Find out what the cheapest published fare is for the dates you want to travel, using either Cheap Ticket or Travelocity. Then log on to Priceline and submit a bid for 65% of the fare you found. This worked all four times for me.
