Buying new stuff in TJ is a bad idea

First of all the prices SUCK, and on top of that the quality is piss poor, similar to EZ credit retail outlets in slums in the US. I obviously haven't been everywhere in TJ, but if there are places where you can even FIND quality appliances, etc. I'd be pretty surprised. And then if you DO the prices will surely be outrageous.

Driving the 805 toward the border in the afternoon I always see these pickups with Baja plates with huge metal brackets in the beds stuffed beyond capacity with what appears to be junk acquired on the US side. I think these guys either have special permits or have properly greased the customs people ahead of time, because I saw one just get waved through from the declaracion line one time. Of course going through all the shit in the back of that truck woulda taken a solid week, so maybe they just didn't wanna deal with it.

I think the bottom line is that American junk beats overpriced 'new' CRAP.
