Good point. Not only that, but i have been quite startled by how some chicas abuse the condom. For example, on several occasions the chica has tried to put the condom on me by stretching it out to 3 times the diameter of my pecker and putting it over. I always toss it and get a new one, explaining to the chica that this easily can damage the condom and increase the risk of rupture. ShyGuy said "just getting the virus [herpes] on your skin does not mean you have caught it. It needs to get through your skin or mucus membrane. It has no mechanism to break through intact skin (unlike the spirochete that cause syphilis, which burrows through intact skin quite efficiently). If nothing else, this indicates that microscopic tears in the thin sensitive skin and mucus membranes of the genitalia is a common event during normal sexual activity, or this infection would not be anywhere near as prevalent as it is." It also might indicate that virtually all herpes transmissions are through condomless sex. Surely these microscopic tears are far more common on the penis itself, which endures a great deal of mechanical strain and tension during sex, despite its extremely thin layer of skin. So is the same true of the warts viruses? that they do not easily get through the skin? Shyguy, thanks for the correction about syphilis being transmitted simply through skin contact with a chancre, didn't know that. Didn't know it was a spirochete that can burrow into skin either. At least its curable.
