Thanks, CF, that must be what she was talking about. She said it was like dark sugar, but I guess I took that to mean it was something other than sugar. I'd never heard this usage of "panocha" before and wanted to make sure. Don't want to get slapped around by the waitress at Sanborn's when I ask for a little panocha in my coffee.
