During my efforts to research TJ this weekend for the benefits of the readers here, I stopped by Bar Tropical to check out things. Along the way, I picked up a new gringo in the ZN, who was down for a few hours, and who was learning Spanish, hopefully, he will be posting here shortly. At any rate, we arrived at Bar Tropical in the middle of the Variedades, and the mesero set us up with a table, since all the tables by the dance floor were full. I noticed that there was a lack of chicas in the place, maybe it was because it was only 7 pm. At any rate, we ordered a couple of drinks, and along came an angel in white, walking along the back of the dance floor. This one was recently arrived in TJ, from Culican, named Angela, and was decked out in a petite white outfit in short shorts. The two of us started buying her ficha drinks, and she proceeded to tell us her life story. It turns out that she was a mesera at Lord Black's in Nogeles, so if any of you Arizona guys are reading this, you might have some good info on us. Anyway, the new gringo expressed some interest in taking Angela to the hotel, but I split before the deal was done. We might be lucky enough to get a post on Angela soon. By the time I left BT, the place was getting full of chicas.
