Yes I realize nearly everyone here has already seen and discussed it, I just don't get out to movies much. Basically the chica was unaffected by the whole film and thought it was so so, she also had some trouble following it in the beginning. Probably not a great chica movie (YCMMV). Her main gripe was that none of the latin actors actually had Mexican dialects (with the exception of Selma) including the main Tj cop (Javier?), who she felt was from central america and seemed "gay". She likes her films to be pretty straight forward, preferably with a middle aged Mexican singing cowboy..this ain't no sophisticated city gal. Personally I liked the film as it pointed out the futility of our whole drug "war" and showed how out of touch the politians are (no surprise). All the scenes in Mexico were also shot with a Tobacco filter which I though was very effective in capturing the mood. Overall not a bad film, alittle conventional at times but worth seeing.
