Bro EC, Yeah, I've used priceline a few times--usually only when other low fare options have crapped out, or I've fucked around until very close to the date of the trip before making plans. It's not very predictable, in my experience (Brother avltourist has had a different, more consistent experience)--sometimes you *can* get a real cheap price, other times it consistently rejects my low ball efforts and is pretty close to what you can get via cheaptickets or one of the other cheap online services where you have the advantage of picking your flight times and connections. You just have to be careful about how much you offer, and be sure you have flexibility wrt times, as you can get some crazy flight times (I flew out of Mex. City in Jan. at 12:45 *a.m.*--the *real* shit is when you get a 6 or 7 a.m. flight...had one of them leaving SD once, just partied in TJ all night and went straight to the airport, still drunk as a skunk and with chica scent all over my little whoremongering self--the Christian businessman sitting across the aisle from me looked up from his copy of 'God wants you to make money, and lots of it!' about a hundred times to give me that fearful 'you evil sinner, you!' look...I wish I'd had it in me to barf on him). |
