It does give prestige and visibility for marketing purposes, and in most bars, also gets the bailarinas a decent cash payment (by MX standards). Ironic that in the U.S., strippers PAY the club to get onstage and take it off, then share their lap dance fees with the house (though new California laws are restructuring how this works), and have to tip the bartenders, waitresses and DJ when their shift ends. In TJ, dancers get paid and keep all their puta money...house take comes from bar sales and hotel room rental. Much better deal for the TJ gals.
