After buying a bunch of those $20 phone cards, I finally tried the Net2Phone card to see how it worked. Basically, its a lot more convenient than a standard phone card EXCEPT that there are no 1-800 lines in the Net2Phone system - they give you a list of telephone numbers, and you must call one of those numbers to get into the system. IF you are near a Net2Phone number, which are in most urban areas in the USA, then Net2Phone is dirt cheap (I think I'm getting around 10 cents a minute to central Mexico). If I call central Mexico via AT&T or MCI cards, I'm paying about $1 a minute. If I call from TJ on a Ladatel card, it's 4 pesos a minute. |
