Red, the bus stations we are talking about are not anywhere near the turnstiles. The main terminal is about a 20 minute cab ride east and south from the border, away from downtown and near the airport. The smaller terminal, that EC is talking about, is on the west side of the pedestrian bridge that crosses the scenic Tijuana River as you walk to the ZN from the border. It's about two blocks east of Revolucion on the street that becomes Articulo 123. Although I've seen 'em, I don't know anything about the vendors near the turnstiles. Mexico is heavily reliant on public transportation, and there are many different buslines. Perhaps you can get a good deal from the vendors at the border; maybe you can even get the same tickets you could buy at the bus stations (of course, you'd still have to get to the station). I've just never tried it.
