I'm always a little suspicious when a newbie pops up and says they went to a zona bar, went upstairs with a chica, then didn't have to pay..as if to imply they're such great lovers that the girls couldn't possibly except any money from them, right up there with the guys that swear the girls always "really" climax with them..followed by the guys that "always" get telephone numbers..followed by the guys who have knocked up chicas..followed by the guys who have beaten up rateros.. I'm sure it does happen, but in the case of freebies, possibly if she views you as a loyal customer or a potential sugar daddy, but the girls are only at the zona bars for ONE reason, to make money. If they were just looking to get laid or meet a novio they'd go to one of the many clubs outside of the zona packed with young guapo Ricky Martin look alikes, not some Zona bar full of a bunch of middle aged lecherous gringos they can hardly talk with (of course that wouldn't include anyone here).
