About a year ago I tried to take a chica to my room mere minutes after noon, and the pale, youngish guy with glasses at the desk made me pay for another night. I put up a mild protest about checkout time being 1 PM, and he was deadset on it being noon. Of course I ended up doing what every good addict should, I re-upped for another night, and ended up tacking two on after that for good measure! When I got to the room, the quaint little sign on the back of the door (in English, looked exactly like disclaimers in US hotels) said checkout time is indeed 1 PM. That doesn't mean they won't try and squeeze extra $$ out of you any time they see the opportunity, though Adelitas is generally pretty damned good about such things. In the end, I actually may have been kinda lucky in this instance. Elena blew my mind in the room, then asked if I was ready for MORE after I finally caught my breath -- AND I ended up having a room for the night at Adelitas on a Saturday night!
