"...I don't know about others but I'm a human with feelings and emotions." I agree that sticking to the merely physical limits your experience of life. Viewing the women as only physical body parts is not very satisfying for me and from your comments for you either. However, staying stuck at the emotional level is as limiting as staying stuck at the physical level. According to Darwin, animals have feelings and emotions. What sets us apart is language and thinking. The most useful model I've discovered is that experience occurs at four levels. From the lowest to the highest they run physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual with each higher level controlling the lower levels. It's not an either or system. It's more like concentric circles. It's quite possible to fully experience strong feelings and emotions and then use your brain to move to a higher level. I've noticed that when I have painful emotions it's because of what I'm thinking. That is, what I'm saying to myself inside and the pictures I'm seeing inside. Fortunately, I've discovered that I can direct what I'm thinking and change the words and the pictures. One of my favorite quotes is "I'm an old man and have lived through many problems - most of which never happened." Another benefit of enrollment at La Universidad de Zona Norte. It's an incredible opportunity to move through experiences at many levels. Regards, |
