I have taken a suitcase across several times but when i do i take one of the border crossing busses across for a dollar or dollar and a quarter on some.Usually it stops at the border for a few seconds and travels on.Twice it stopped and a border agent came onboard and glanced without walking back in the bus.I always sat in the back of the bus and sat my suitcase behind the seat.I never saw this guy inspect any package when he looked in the bus and there were plenty of people with big plastic bags and cardboard boxes full of stuff.This would probably get you across with less hassle than walking with a big suitcase.
