Don't have much experience with TJ but the quick answer is NO. Never been to Guanajuato for mongering so can't help out there. It's a great party town to start with since a lot of people from both Mexico City and Guadalajara go there on the weekends. In addition, there's a university. Of course its a young crowd. It's also a very interesting colonial town. Not to be missed, you should take the "free" (they ask for a contribution at the end) walking tour of the town that starts near the Juarez Theater around sunset (6-8ish, ask the locals. I think its every night) given by university students thats a lot of fun. The last time I was there with a girlfriend, I saw a couple guys hook up with a group of girls from Guadalajara. Basically, everyone is there to get drunk and have a good time. As for Aguascaliente, I really can't recommend it for mongering. I was there last year for their big San Marcos fair with a bunch of buddies. There's a small boy's town outside of town. Its probably a quarter of the size of the one in Nuevo Laredo. We found a couple nice ones there (say 7-8) but not much. The big thing in Aguascaliente is the bar zone. Its a big walled up compound with two rows of bars in it. You have to go through security in order to get in. Crazy place. Cheers |
