After an evening "con una fiesta grande" (with a big party), I was totally, completely RicardoContento (ContentedDick). Sitting in a booth in Adelitas the next day, it took up most of my remaining energy to simply sit up, sip una cervesa, and admire the silhouettes of the day ladies as they were outlined by bright sunlight streaming in every time someone pushed aside the door covering. A young lady slipped into the booth beside me, pressed her body into mine, threw her arms around me, and said something to the effect that I should buy her a beer. I smiled weakly and said "no, ahora son contento completo" (no, now I'm completely contented). I expected her to move on but she continued with her one-sided bargaining and proceeded to outline the incredibly wonderful time I'd have with her in the hotel. "No, gracious. Anoche, tengo una fiesta grande and ahora son contento." (No, thank you. Last night I had a large party and now I'm content. She continued to deal and promised an amazing "mamada sin condon" (BBBJ) for $40. I replied that my mind wanted to but my body was saying "no mas! no mas!" (no more). Her one-sided bargaining continued, "$30". At which point I accepted her offer, "Si, en la futura" (Yes, in the future.) Bargaining from strength "despues" (after) instead of bargaining from weakness "antes" (before). Regards, |
