Anthropologist or Antro-apologist?

"Antro" is the word that Mexican society uses to describe the type of low-life hooker bar that is idigenous to the Zona. I first came across the word while reading the original newspaper article on Boyd's arrest some two years ago...somebody had posted the clipping. The CC was referred to as an "antro" which my Spanish-English dictionary defines as a "dump, hole, cavern". Probably the nicest bar in the Zona, and the MX newspaper refers to it as a cavernous dump hole...

So, I guess they don't view the average patron in such a fine light. I can't really rationalize my own indulgences nor can I act as an apologist for my own behaviours, but these bars or "antros" do perform a valuable social function, and I tip my pith helmet to the ladies that work in such. Mil gracias, mis amigas...
