I have experienced this both in and outside of the US. I have dated several Mexicanas and PuetoRiqueñas in Chicago and would get grief from: Latin Guys (mainly sneers) Of the bunch the gringos were the worse. Sometimes I was really surprised by racist remarks from people I had thought better of. Chicago, like Boston, is a city with strong ethnic pockets. People are suspicious of each other. I have been in dating situations in Mexico and Central America with Latinas. I have experienced occasional looks in the border towns, but much less so farther south, particularly in El Salvador. Probably because they don't see a lot of Gringos and haven't grown to love us quite as much. Assholes are assholes wherever they live and whatever pigment their skin. I don't mean to put myself above it all. When I was young, I had a lot to learn too.
