Well, my short-lived retirement was going to end this week when I was planning on making a 2-3 night TJ appearance. This trip was more to party with friends (Happy Birthday Otra Vida!) then as a chica-run but I'm sure I would've hooked up with either Frida, Smith, or a few other "targets". Sadly (in some respects), I've been offered a pretty decent position up here at the local university and they want (need) me to start ASAP. I can't exactly say when I will be able to make it down there again (at least in the next 3-4 months) so I'm going to say "Adios" (again, for now) to all of you being firm in the knowledge that when I do finally make it back down to Tijuana and the Zona, nothing much will have changed! To those of you on the boards who I have verbally mixed it up with…well…I don't apologize to you but I do apologize to all of the readers that had to put up with it. The quickest thing that gets my ire is someone who either boasts incessantly or who takes pleasure in belittling or critiquing others in their own little power trips. None of us invented the Zona! It was there before us and it will continue long after us. Hell, my Dad visited TJ when he was in the Navy while in San Diego. There's nothing that happens on a daily basis to any individual that couldn't or wouldn't happen to anyone else given the right circumstances. We all like to think that our experiences are special but the sad state of affairs is that these chicas are nothing but actresses on the interactive stage of the Zona Roja. We don't own them, we don't even lease them…we rent them for lengths of time and enjoy (or not) that time. I know there's plenty of "relationships" going on right now…I just know (as we all do) how love can cloud a person's mind, vision, heart, & true perspective on things. I've had some great times with some of these chicas and those memories will stay with me forever. One very special one is back in TJ right now and is calling me begging me to come down. Do I feel special? Hell yes! Do I realize that she wants (needs) my money? Hell yes! To Hacker, if you're still reading these boards, a special thanks for re-initiating me back into the zona alittle more then a year ago. It had been about 3 years before that when I made my first (and only other) trip and lost my (zona) virginity to the pre-legendary Vanessa. It was good meeting you (and your friends) and getting the (short) tour. To Tomas & Porker, an equally special thanks for hooking up with me a few months after that and REALLY showing me the ropes and without you I wouldn't have met so many others: Erip, What3ver, Otra Vida, Kodack, Tmoney, El Fuego, Esteban, Lakers, Athos, Celtics, Redongdo, Juan, Jaime, Pman, TJHombre, Hippie, & MuleLip. I then met so many others through my familiarity with the zona including Driven and Dzonaguy. I know I'm leaving names out but I know who you are! You all are a great bunch of guys and I know I'll be in touch with many of you through phone calls and e-mails for a long time. I've also "chatted" with some great guys (Curious, PhilTom, TaxiBob, etc.) who I hope to eventually meet somewhere down the line. I also hope to eventually get to a Bay Area Monger's Convention and trade stories with all of those guys I've never met. To TJHombre, Juan, & Redsnake, thank you for providing these venues for myself and others to supply and learn about this great "hobby". I certainly wouldn't have continued my "adventures" without salivating over the reports on Redsnake more then a year ago. TJH & Juan, you've continued the torch-bearing admirably and ANOTHER (small) donation in on the way to you both to keep these boards up and thriving. I will continue to lurk and occasionally put my two cents in and will count on the invaluable information when I can eventually make my next trip. Adios Para Ahora Mi Compadres! |
