I wasn't there for that one, but I've seen shit similar to that. There is a lot of talk in here about standing up to the cops when they fuck you around, but there is not a hell of a lot you are going to do against three or four of them who mean business, other than get your ass kicked and maybe get thrown in jail. On the other hand, I've never had the TJ police mess with me, either, other than to pull me over after I fucked up and turned the wrong way onto a one way street (I was happy to pay my $20 fine directly to the nice officer). The basic rules I live by in TJ are 1) don't have open containers in the street; 2) ignore the guys who want to sell drugs; and 3) don't act like an asshole. Fortunately, these rules have worked for me so far, although I must admit to breaking no. 3 a couple of times. 8^)
