MuleLip, I had no internet connection for awhile, so i am a couple of days late replying. You don't like Ricardos, so there goes my first suggestion. I agree whole heartedly that Sanborns and La Placita (or as I call it, La Placenta), suck. Every really good breakfast restaurant I know of is in or near the Zona Rio, so that does not fit your bill, either. The only other place that I can suggest is the restaurant next to Cascadas on the alley side, with my second choice being Restaurant Monte Carlo next to AB.
