You could pay some poor bastard to drive you around all day for less than it would cost to rent a car. It is absolutely foolish to rent a car in TJ. The city is so compact that you can take public transportation virtually anywhere, for virtually free! Tell me, where do you want to go? Rosarito? Shit, busses leave regularly for Rosarito, and it costs less than a buck! Or take a taxi there for a buck! Want to go to Plaza Rio from Downtown? Take a taxi, BOOM! You are there in a jiffy, for the equivalent of 50 cents! By the way, most of the taxis in TJ follow routes, and don't go until they are full - no problem, they fill up fast! You just need to know where the routes leave from out of downtown. Just ask any route-driving taxista where the taxis are for your destination, they'll be glad to help. Do NOT ask one of the non-route drivers working Revoluccion - they will give you a bum steer. When in Rome, do as the Romans!
