I understood that she is primarily interested in the connection between incidence of the HIV and migration patterns, and, I'd guess, where the chicas work--street vs. clubs. Still, most ethnographies are going to be much more broadly based than this, and she does seem to want to know about the culture of the chicas and the mongers--note her survey questions. Whatever, I think she's missing a great opportunity to get info--biased as it is; and I can't see that she'd lose much by more aggressively hooking up with a monger or two or three to go around to the clubs and walk the streets. But...what scared her off? She sounded pretty cool headed and tough, and the latter is certainly required for all good fieldwork.
