A man much wiser than me once told me that nothing new happens in La Zona - it has all been done before, and it will all be done again. I do believe that guys follow a cycle in their Zona evolution. It happens in slightly different ways for different guys, and at vastly different rates, but there is a pattern. I know I have been down that path. I started at CC, due to the luck of getting a cab driver who was willing to risk his fare (and a tip) to show me someplace new and better. Later I got into exploring the other bars, eventually to hanging at the smaller bars most of the time, and finally full circle back to CC. In my case it was spread over a couple of years. What is funny is that so many people don't realize that there is an evolutionary process involved, and so at any given moment they think they have the whole thing wired, and are adamant about their "current position" being the "right" one. IMHO, there is no "right" way or "wrong" way to do La Zona. Anyway you do it, it's been done before. |
