This is an issue that has crossed my mind on more than one occasion. It doesn't apply so much to me personally because I'm so far away and my TJ trips are likely to be few and far between.

When I was out there last month and sitting in AB, with my obvious gringo appearance, I half expected someone to walk up to me and ask me if I was one of those internet guys. No one did, but I found myself wondering afterward, what if someone had? I also got an email or two from readers of this board, in response to a few posts I had made, offering to meet up in the Zona. I didn't check my email while I was out there, so I didn't see them until after I was back east.

I'm rather ambivalent on this issue, I guess. On the one hand, it would be kind of nice to attach faces to all these faceless posts. And because of the distance, I probably have less reason to remain anonymous than most of you. The flip side is that I'm a do-my-own-thing kind of guy, and my agenda might not jell with most.

It's obvious that many of you do know each other personally. But I'm curious as to how many choose to stay hidden. Is it hard to pull that off?
