After becoming re-familiarized with the "ste" conjugation, I'm seeing it all over the place. For example in one of my "Casos Reales" (REal Cases) crime Foto-Comix, two failed "stick-up" men are blaming each other for their screwed-up robbery attempt. The panel has the header:
"Estaban furiosos por su fracaso como rateros y se culpaban mutuamente" ("They were furious for their failure as thieves and they blamed each other mutually.")

The one says, in his "dialogue balloon":
"TIRASTE el dinero, ya lo tenias..." ("You THREW away the money, already it you had.")

Then the other guy says:
Tu TUVISTE la culpa, te DEJASTE quitar la pistola..." (You HAD the blame, you LET her take away the gun...")

Then back to the first guy:
"Por que no le PEGASTE" ( "Why not her you HIT?")

A neat, clean little form...
