A topic that pops up every so often, but still a valid one.

It's a mixed bag and I certainly understand the guys that prefer to remain unknown, I hung around the boards (as well as TJ) for close to six months before I met anyone.

The worry that you might be ID'd as an "internet guy" is a very real possibility and some of the girls don't like it.

But the arguments about preferring to fly solo instead of a pack is ridiculous. Why do you guys feel like you can only do one or the other? When cruising the clubs and I spot someone or a few guys I usually say hi and sometimes have a beer with 'em and if they decide to head to another club I might say cool let's go. But it's equally acceptable to just say hi and keep flying solo. Or hang for a while then say "I'm gonna wander around a little", everyone is cool about it and you take off on your own. You don't become more restricted because you decide to meet some of the other guys, you acquire more options.

Also while those of us who go often or for awhile have fallen into a security zone...we are still in a pretty wild environment and there's nothing wrong with knowing who is on your side if you ever need help. Also these potential bandidos who hang around and stalk their next prey will see you talking to other people every so often....and even when you walk alone they know you really aren't...alone that is.

And finally, what's wrong with knowing someone and being able to say "Let's go somewhere and buy me a beer!"
