Well, thanks for all of the posts of familiarity, sympathy, suggestions, and even Porker's customary post of "Get Over It Already, Dude!". My original post came through more as a "bemoaning the lie" subject when I really meant it as a verbalization of an observation that takes "YMMV" to a higher level. She never lied to me about going to GDL and I actually had to flake on her one time when we had planned a trip to Ensenada...so my loss. Again, my post was meant to intensify (to me and others) that the chica "you know" may not be the chica "others know" and most likely is not who the chica "really is". Granted, this is more true with the veterans and the chicas that have been there for awhile...but given time...I would imagine all of the chicas would develop this protective "layer".
