One of the chicas that I 'date' ended up missing from her regular gig at Chaveles last night. So, I tracked her down at Charrita, doing the $1 dance thing. No big deal. Anyway, given that her pitch to me is that she loves me and wants to see only me, she seems a little squirrely talking me in the bar. All of a sudden, she suggested that we split, and go to Chaveles. On the way out the door of Charrita, she kind of disappeared in the crowd. After standing around outside, I walked back in, and she was there, but ran into the ladies' room. At any rate, I waited outside the bar for a few minutes (I had had a couple of drinks too much, and needed some air). She re-emerged from the bar, with some Mexican guy in tow, and disappeared down the street, without acknowledging my existence. My take is that her padrote had walked into the bar, and spotted her before she could split with me. You guys that get all wrapped up with these chicas will have this happen to you some day. I just take it in stride - they all have novios and padrotes, for the most part, and like like hell about it. That's part of the TJ experience. Next time I see her, she'll give me some line about an emergency, or some such, and try to make it up to me. |
