The highway is 2 lane, most of the way, kind of like the road from Mexicali to San Felipe. Every couple hundred kilometers, there's a small city with good hotels. You can't avoid the corrupt cops, but there's no more danger driving down there than going to San Felipe. Once in La Paz, you can ship your car on the Ferry to Mazatlan for $300. Expect a delay of a day or so to get a berth on the ferry. |
