Depends which Caliente you're talking about for big bets.
At the Caliente of Pueblo Amigo, 1k is not considered a big amount but they'll put your game on if not on the tv schedule. You bet 10k on an NFL game you might move the spread by 1/2 a pt. You bet $200 on a soccer game, you may move spread by -100 to -200.
Caliente taxes you over 1% on winnings. I think you can cross the border with at most 10/20k in pocket without having to declare???
I have been told they will hassle you if you make over 10k, even tell crossing guards at border.
If you keep winning and get noticed, they will also limit your bets.
If you win, you get paid as soon as score recorded on computer, typically 5 to 10 mn.
If you win really big, they'll have to call a truck to bring the dough, guards with guns. Plenty of taxicabs available in pueblo amigo.
Bets are not as plentiful as in LV but plenty enough. I keep seeing heavy gamblers finish their night at AB.
