Gotta sing with the thumbs down chorus on this one...Sanborn's isn't too great (but I won't say it sucks...not totally). It's edible - I'm no food snob and I can eat there, but the food is remarkably poor I think for a chain that is a Mexican institution. Chicas and tourists will enjoy going to Sanborn's in Plaza Rio and next to Jai Lai because they are really refined attractive restaurants...pleasant venues to kick back and eat some seriously mediocre food. I didn't think it was too authentic when they served my order of fajitas with dinner rolls instead of tortillas...and the mole sauce on my enchiladas last week was like the first coat of lead based paint...after the second coat has been applied. That sauce was set dude! Those waitress uniforms are really goofy...don't they have any gay costume designers in Mexico?
