Hey friends, new to the Club, heading to Thailand late Oct, early Sept, wanted to get any information on the place prior to since this is my first trip. Is this a good time to travel, should I move my time up some, hotels, women to look for, stay away from etc....Anything would be helpful. Stew

DO NOT move the trip up. You will hit rainy season which is just winding down late Sept. October is fine - my favorite month in Thailand. November - better weather but bigger crowds.

Other than that check the guides and reports first. Ask specific questions. No one can answer what you have requested -- way too general.

Will be in Thailand May 3-11 for a paid business trip(for once) on an immigration case. Will be good to be back.

I'm sure you'll be burning the midnight oil doing "research".

2nd trip to Thailand . Will be in Bangkok 9/3-9/11. Very experienced Brazilian traveler (35+years) but new to Thailand. If you are in town and want to educate me, let's get together for a cold one.

I'm doing the mongers convention in Pattaya, about two hours from Bangkok by car during your dates with a whole group of hombres. We always skip BKK as Pattaya is slower, easier and less crowded. If you want to check out Pattaya for a day or two send a PM.

Went to BKK in 05, so trying new city. Any advice on there appreciated. Thinking of staying @ Penthouse/Kitten Club Hotel. So, having trouble finding a good hotel..Was thinking of Secrets, but they are booked. Looking to spend under $30 USD night...in Pattaya, near or on Walking Street. Any suggestions? Pattaya Bay Resort is a little more than you want, because of Christmas rates, but it's first rate and walking distance. You could also try Sandy Spring, clsoer to Beach Road and pretty nice, also a little over $30.00. Both are nearer to $40.00 that time of the year.

Live a little you owe to the troops to have a good R&R.

Brazil vet trying LOS for the first time. I'm in BKK April 7-12, sort of short notice (working in China this month and had a change in plans permitting this quick trip). I think I've got enough info here at CH I can manage on my own ok, but it's often fun to meet other members while traveling.

Broman, remember when you go into Tulip to tell them that you want to see the lineup. They will ring the bell then send you downstairs to pick your girl. Many newbies (and I have discovered, some people who have been there many times) think that you can only pick from the photos in the book, or let the house choose for you.

It's in BKK on Sukhumvit about Soi 38 get off at Thong Lor station on skytrain .

When you get off the Skytrain, it's on the same side of Sukhumvit as Nana Plaza, and right down the stairs--its name is visible from the station.

Yes. When you take the Skytrain from Nana Station (or any station in that direction), you get off at Thong Lor, and walk in the direction the train was traveling. You'll see the sign for Tulip to your right. Just take the stairs down to the street and your just steps from bliss.

I will be in BKK, Chainat and Pattaya Jan 14-31. BKK 1/14 - 1/18, Chainat 1/19 - 1/22 Pattaya 1/23 till I can't take any more!

I'll be arriving BKK on Jan 9. I plan to spend a few days in Bangkok (Nana Plaza Area), then fly to Chaing Mai for a couple days before heading to Pattaya. I was in Pattaya in Feb so know my way around there pretty well. I also have a close friend who lives in Jomtien. I don't drink but I enjoy the go-go bars and hope to meet a girl to travel with down to Koh Chang. I fly out on Jan 24, and would welcome the oppy to meet a few fellow mongers. I'm 62, from Redondo Beach California and have some health probs so I'm not real energetic, but I do feel comfortable on a scooter in Thailand. I must be related to Luke SKYWALKER!

Yeah I was just in Pattaya this past weekend. For me, Soi 6 is really the one mongering place that I found worthwhile. I am sorry outside of the dancers at the top shelf Go Go bars on walking street, this town 99% if filled with older, already given birth, dumpy bodied, tatooed, and attractively challenged chicks. Yikes, it was rather shocking.

On Soi 6 you can find some suprisingly hot girls scattered here and there, and also the girls understand why guys like me roll into town - I want to fuck and enjoy it. Pattaya is really much more of a holiday partying town than a good mongering town.

Anyone planning to ravel to thailand this summer? I am hoping to plan a trip in late spring or early summer.

Quick qestion which are the best hotels?

The wife and I are going to be there may 18th til the 22nd, just for a quick fly over from the PI. But we are new there as well. There are some good hotels situated between Nana and Soi areas may sure they are "guest freindly" if thats your thing.

Majestic Grande near Nana plaza is a fav. Ask this question on the right thread and you will get a lot better answer. Thailand, hotels.

Agreed, Majestic Grande on Soi 2 is a great place. You can throw a rock and hit Nana Plaza, but it's a business-class hotel with a good breakfast buffet and a nice workout facility. You can get discounted rates there through Agoda.com

The big question is: what is your budget for hotels? Answers to follow as to which are the "best."

I'm in BKK until June. I'm looking for a buddy to hit the bars with (nana plaza, etc). I'm a newbie to mongering here, so would appreciate the experience of another. Not looking for a tour guide, but can make it worth your effort.

I have been running go-go bars now for 12 years in Nana Plaza. I'm usually in Angelwitch on the middle level and occasionally in Billboard (formerly Hollywood Carousel on the top floor). I'm happy to give you guys the heads up from ground zero about the nightlife sacene in Bangkok.

Check out Pattaya Bay Resort. Less expensive than LK Metro. Includes breakfast. Great access to Second Road. Anything close to Soi 13 and Second Road is close to the scene

Right now Pattaya is free from the floods, but some items food items are running low due to the large influx of residents from Bangkok fleeing the flood in Bangkok.

DON'T EVER FLY DELTA

I was suppose to be on my way to Thailand now but thanks to Delta, the whole trip is fucked.

At the last minute Delta changed my time of departure so I would only have ten minutes to catch my connection from Mineapolis to Japan.

When I called them they told me the only thing they could do was put me on a plane the next day in whatever seats were available in coach.

I paid for economy comfort and I was told the only seats available were in the middle rows in coach. I asked that bitch has she ever rode in the middle row of a plane for 14 hrs?

They refused to upgrade me or make any other concessions so I told them to give my fucking money back.

I am still angry. I had to cancel my entire vacation because of them.

I didn't pay $2500 for a ticket in the middle rows of that fucking plane.

The worse part was their endifference.

I don't think I can fly another american carrier ever. I will just pay more to fly someone else.

That SUCKS, but I would have tried to work with them to salvage my vacation.

I had a similar issue with AA, they caused me to miss my connection in Japan one year, but they made up for it with a connection the next morning, and when I bitched about it I got 10k miles. Those miles do add up over time.

I would have if they had something comparable to what I paid for. I have to fly 13 hrs to Japan and then another 6 or so to LOS. I have flown in the middle rows before and it was torture. I will never do it again.

I feel like since they screwed up, I should have been offered something at least as good as I paid for if not better.

The problem are people's different styles in mongering and overall approach to traveling....I rarely if ever meet up with anyone...I just like to do my own thing to be honest....the few times I did meet up, it was just for drinks and not much else. Finding compatible wingmen....tough!

Duke, many guys on this board are extremely cautious about who they meet up with, for obvious reasons of privacy/identity protection. That's why a lot of people don't even bother posting in the trip buddies section. Usually they'll want to see a long record of posting on this board, or see another trusted board member vouch for someone, before they'll consider meeting up with a stranger.

I spend a lot of time on the road myself. I have met a few fellow mongers from this board with no issues.
I'm kind of like LM, I will meet up for a drink, but I have found it better to monger solo or with guys I have known for a while. After all, I may want to run for President one day so I need to be discreet. LOL
Concarne I will be in Pattaya 2nd week of January also.
