Haven't been to Nogales and, after reading several posts (Phoenixguy, Mr. Bill, Nogiman) have decided it might be interesting, fun, worth doing. Would be interested going in March with someone who has past experience. I'd drive in exchange for intro. Some questions for Nogi vets: Are all transactions done in dollars not pesos? Any advantage or disadvantage to either? Is payment like US (generally) before or Thailand after? Finally, what is this about $20.00 for a private roon for 5-7 minutes. That seems very odd indeed.

Hi Ramblin! Looks like you've been to the far east, and if what I read here on CH is accurate about the cost of things over there, you may get sticker shock in Nogales.

Dollars and pesos are pretty much equally accepted practically everywhere in Nogales. Using dollars won't ever be a problem in the bars. The only problem I have with dollars in Nogi is when I only have 20's in my wallet, and someone doesn't have that much change.

If you're talking about the clubs, it's a pay before environment. For lap dances or privados, you buy a ticket from the boletero (ticket seller), and then they'll get you the girl of your choice. Although often the girl will already be camped out on your lap, and will get the boletero for you.

The private rooms are for privados (private dances). Essentially, they're little closets in which you and the girl can get busy doing whatever you're willing to negotiate. That usually translates into a BJ and/or sex, and the price is up to you and the girl to negotiate. Personally, I almost never did the privado thing, as the cost is pretty steep for the amount of time you get (typically just a few minutes). I always preferred taking a gal back to my hotel, where I could have a few hours of fun instead.

Phxguy. Thanks for the post. The privado thing sounds nuts to me. I don't think I want some guy banging on my door while I banging on chica's. Well, yeah, from reading the reports I kinda gathered prices in Nogi were far higher than BKK but, with the cost of the airfare to Thailand it might not be so bad. Bar fine in Thailand is $12.00 plus Long Term is $75.00 so, what can TLN in Nogi be? Twice the cost? Shouldn't be more than that should it? Do you know anyone headed down soon?. Although I'm sure I could handle a solo venture an experienced gentleman such as yourself to show a novice the ropes would be good especially in light of Mr. Bill's comment in his newbie post about getting a chica for a hotel date is not so easy until your known about town. Would be delighted in exchange BKK/Pattaya info in exchange (or for nothing of course) Thanks.

As for costs, the typical Nogi chica is going to ask a gringo for $100/hour. What they'll actually settle for is going to be highly variable. And as for bar fines - at least one club I'm familiar with wants $100 for themselves in addition to the $200 for the chica.
