I researched this about a year ago.

There are a number of shuttles that run between Phoenix and Nogi, even more between Nogi and Tucson.

Average trip time from Phoenix is 3 to 3-1/2 hours because they usually stop one or two places in Tucson.

Last time I checked, fare was like $21 each way, with some sort of deal on the round trip.

Downside is availability and schedule. Very often, the last run north from Nogi is between 9 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. depending upon the company.
Also, the last van may fill early and they will leave early.

Right now, Budget car rental will rent you a little Ford pickup with a locking back cover for $19.95 a day, unlimited mileage. Figure $20, plus about $6 in assorted taxes, plus about $20 in gas. Less than $50 for the round trip and you can come/go when you want. I love using the rentals to get down there, but I don't take them across the border. Ever!

sorry i can't find my notes with the names of the shuttle companies -- swing by the bus station near the airport (off 24th st) and I'm sure they will be there.

The "bottle police" will be out in force this weekend. With the lower .08 blood alcohol level now the law in AZ., there will be a LOT of cops "fishing" for DUI's. Give them any reason to stop you and they will, hell even driving sober late at night will do the trick!!!.

If you are not drunk they figure they need to "give" you something for their time and effort.

I'm planning a trip to Nogales for the first week of March, as I will be in Phoenix for a photo shoot on Sunday the 3rd. I'm looking to stay overnight in Phoenix or Tucson that night, then head to Nogales the next day and stay Monday and maybe Tuesday night, depending on how much entertainment is available!

Would any of the Nogie regulars be up to showing me around? I've been doing the TJ Zona scene for about four years now, but this is my first chance to try elsewhere in MX.

Cardinal - can't make it that week 'cause this weekend busted my piggy bank. Only thing I can tell you is that you might want to take a pass on Monday. I think most/all the clubs are closed on Monday, but I'm not sure. Anyone know for sure? Tuesdays are good because several places have 2-fer-1 private dances on Tuesday (Cherry's for sure, not sure about others). Ask around for a second opinion on the Monday deal - I'm pretty sure that's right, but not positive.
