Bringing four friends who have never been before. Pictures of my last trip has convinced them to come down there with me . I myself am a amature punter by this being my 3rd trip. I will be in Costa Rica August 11-15....Me and 2 friends will probably start in San Jose at the Del Ray and then travel out to Jaco....we'll try to catch some sites along the way....Hey Smuckin, do you think it is better to stay at the Presidente instead of the Del Ray?

I can't decide on hotels , i hear all of the chaos of the presidentes new dress code..... but then again its nicer and quieter then the delray...ive never stayed at either in the past....stayed in mountains and did days trips into sanjose......bottom line i think is both hotels are good in there own way........delray had pluses such as girls a elevator ride away and completly safe. Downsides are guest fee if your running for effieceny like me...lol......its also very loud.

When i toured the presidente though i was impressed, look wise and ammenities i think its the best in san jose........ now for staying in jaco i have no idea ....last time it was the best western......but they dont allow friends to come back..... i guess on the grounds its a more family friendly hotel.

I'm heading down to San Jose for the weekend of Jan 12-15. If anyone will be around, give me a shout.

In repy to Bigjohn's questions:

1. At MPs you pay the chica before the session begins in the room. Several strip clubs & chica bars require you to first hand the money to the waiter, bartender, or clerk. At Blue Marlin I always pay after & never had one who wanted pre-pay. Some BM chicas might ask for pre-pay but it's wiser to pay after.

2. I never had an unsatisfory session at MPs, bars, or strip clubs. Most chicas are willing to please & have nice attitude but it's nothing like Brazil.

3,4. Hotel Del Rey (HDR) is a popular choice for a first visit. The trip advisor in the hotel lobby should have info on fishing boat trips.

5. You'll save some money using colones. When I arrive at SJO airport I go to the upper level (Departures) to pay the $26 departure tax (or you can pay the tax when you leave SJO) & exchange currency at the BAC San Jose (good rates) that's 10 ft away to the left. HDR ATM dispenses USD only. You can exchange currency at HDR but the rate is lower.

Be in San Jose Sunday night April 22nd through morning of Wednesday April25th if anyone will be around. I will be staying at the Sportsman's Lodge.

I`ve stayed at the Del-Rey over 50 times, the management staff are good friends of mine. Great looking women, 10`s 11`s and all pros. 100.00 for a trip upstairs. 1st trip and flying solo, I'm proud of you. If the Del Rey is too expensive for you try the Morazon, a 1/2 a block away. Or the Sportsmans lounge, about 4 blocks away. You want to be close to the Del Rey and key largo at night. Don't get too adventurous on you first trip alone. ALWAYS, take a taxi a night, grab a cab driving down the street, not one parked in front of the DR they are about 2 or 3 times more then a reg. cab. Finally, there will be lots of guys you can shoot the shit with in the Del Rey and hook up with them for trips to New fantasy or bar Idem. puravida!

Thanks for the tips latinalover! One more quick question, what is the average rate to make it with a girl. Do any of them offer overnight stay. And I don't speak Spanish, do you think I will find it difficult to get around and communicate?

The Del Rey has 2 shifts. The day time girls will usually agree to $40 or $50 for an hour or two. Around 7pm, the daytime girls disappear and the night crew arrives, they charge a little more but usually they are hotter looking girls. Don't pay more then $100 for all night. When the girls quote a price they expect for you to chop them. It will be difficult for you to negotiate because of your lack of spanish. Daytime, walk down to el centro and enjoy the city. Its very safe during the day. If a latina makes eye contact with you , approach her, shes interested. With latinas its all about eye contact.
The best advice I can give you is to start up conversations with all the guys in the DR and KL, let them know you are a new bee. and they will go out of their way to help you.

I am Costa Rica bound, arriving Saturday JUNE-23-2012 and leaving Monday JULY-02-2012.

Has the mongering scene gone completely to hell there? It would be nice to get laid at least three times during the journey.

My prime objective is to examine early retirement possibilities and the health care options just in case republicans win and let the insurance companies fuck us over again.

A little eco-tourism, some scuba diving, and sightseeing are also in the mix.
