1000 bucks from Chicago actually ain't that bad for anything around Xmas/New Year's travel -- I think a GOOD price at off peak times from the midwest is like $830 or so? Prices I was seeing from the West Coast when I was trying to book my trip at that time of the year were well over 1000 bucks for any airline besides China Air -- whose dates looked to be selling out quickly.

I will be in Bangkok in 79 days and hopefully arrive in AC on Sunday 12/28, staying through 1/5. A couple of others from the board (and other boards) have confirmed for those dates and hopefully we can get quite a little group together for a New Year's bash. I was a little worried too about the number of girls that would be around right after Xmas in AC, but even if the normal monger population TRIPLED and the number of girls was cut by 2/3, that would still leave about 5 girls for every guy in town according to what I saw in July. It shouldn't be TOO hard to have a good time with those kind of odds!

Atravel, Mackie is indeed incredible and an experience everyone should have in their lifetime. Let her know you're coming and she'll probably cut whatever holiday vacation plans she might have short and be there waiting for you when you arrive!

Can't vouch for ticket price, but sure does SEEM reasonable given the dates. I've actually considered staying in SEA for an extra few months to avoid the fares around that time (or so I keep telling myself that BS hoping to believe it...)

AC will be VERY lean about that time. As Porker states, it's not a BAD thing, but it does mean that top tier/hotties/family girls will most likely be out of town!! This leaves those desperate for money (not a bad thing) and the ones w/o close families (also, not a bad thing). The city should restock itself within the first two weeks of January, most returning by Jan 7.

Thailand should be HOPPING about that time as it's high season and the bars will be stocked with pussy to the ceiling!! Those buddhist countries really don't tremble at the pagan holidays we celebrate...

As far as Macky is concerned - gonna skullfuck her in another 2 weeks or so. Alas, $1000 is more likely my shorthand for "a thousand or so". Rates seem to be on the order of $1200, and $1500 came up a number of times. I've been calling some consolidators, hoping that they could trim off 15% or so.

I'd go at another time, but I'm an hourly wage earner with no vacation time (not as dour as it sounds--I have a business, bill by the hour). I was trying to work in some holidays and a weekend to maximize time off / minimize missed billings.

Question for the AC veterans out there: it looks like I'll be showing up around 11:00 PM into Manila on 12/26. I'm sure I'll show up tired, sweaty and ready to jump the bones of the first female thing that moves (human or otherwise). When coming in on the late flights, do most guys go straight through to AC or spend a night in Manila? How safe or smart is it to monger in Manila at 1:00 AM, or to monger in AC at 3:00 AM?

Atravel, Blazers is the resident expert on Manila (among other places), but I'm sure he'd tell you that the clubs in Manila will still be going strong well after 1 AM. There is plenty of info in his trip reports and the PI section. My comment re: Manila is that it will almost surely be much more expensive than Angeles, both with hotels and girls and ladies drinks to interview the girls.

Arriving in Angeles and ready to head out by 3 AM on a Friday night, you would still have a half dozen good sized bars going pretty strong, and I'm pretty sure Blue Nile and Brown Sugar are open until 5 AM.

The good news about getting in that late is that the traffic to AC, which during the daytime is almost universally TERRIBLE right now with construction on the 'expressway', should be much more manageable and you should be able to make good time -- 2 hours should be doable.

Personally I'd head straight to AC, but then again, I'm extremely budget conscious, and the idea of paying at least 60 bucks for a girl in Manila when it's only 18 in AC would make me avoid Manila simply on principle.

Mackie is a Santos girl, but not I still have no clue about which 'bar' (they're really just shacks with a couple of barstools) is which. I can send you her cell # when the time comes.

Not sure where you left from to go to Brazil, but airfare to Manila from the west coast is generally pretty competitive (~ 600-800 bucks) compared to flying to Brazil. The problem this time may be trying to travel at Christmastime, where every airline jacks up its prices everywhere.

Macky works the Blue Parrot. That's located a few doors down from Shadows Bar. If she's not there whoever is loitering in that structure should be able to text her for you.

There's a chance I might stay longer. I should know this week if I have to return to Taipei on the 27th. If that's the case I'm going to see if the company will let me stay in the PI until the 26th and work from the laptop. My argument will be that the hotel costs are a lot cheaper in the PI than they are in Taiwan (which they are). I'll just leave out the cheap pussy part. When you check-in ask Josie if I'm still in town. I'm in Hong Kong at the moment. Cathay Pacific has a great lounge. These Chinese girls are pretty cute too.

Porker, I may be married by the time you get there. I'm not fighting it. Part of the reason I finalized on PI was that the girls speak English, and GFE keeps coming up every third posting. If I'm getting off, I'm happy to be married: if not, well, she gotta move on, now, don't she.

Atravel, yes, that is the destination for GFE. But something Epi had to keep beating over my head when I first got there was that they will pretty much ALL give you all the GFE you can handle. There's nothing wrong with settling down with just one that you like, but just realize that there are HUNDREDS more that would love to trade places with her the next night. If you DO get 'married' early on, at least find one that will give you some space in the afternoon to try some short times with other girls.
