Sorry I missed you in AC. But, all the major actions are in a three-block area. Hotels are spread out all over. The ones away from the action area try to have some on-locale action. For example, the Swagman Hotel schedules some weekly events. But, are they worth the effort to go out of the way? Maybe if you are in AC for more than a week.

Cathay sucks IMHO. I'm too used to be spoiled on UAL and AA, basically a spoiled brat. When I get treated like the rest of the meat in coach I write off an airline. Perhaps not objective, but that's me.

A question for the more experienced guys about the Philippines. Does anyone know anything about Leyte/Tacloban City? I have a friend going there to visit family, and he asked me to join his adventure. But, some of his family seem to think this is a bad area for tourist. So any info would be great....

I'll be in Leyte by this coming weekend. I'm going there to pick up my girl, look at a couple places to rent on the beach, then on to Cebu.

I been in Biliran,Leyte for the past few days. Extremely beutiful and clean. Must get a motorcycle tomorrow! I'm in Tacloban now and will check out some scenes. Hotel D'angelo is a nice place, 1,030p for double. Clean and comfortable and seems to be where we want, but I'm not 100% sure of that so far. Yes, it is very safe here for us.
