Anybody think about going to the Philippines (Angeles City) in early September or late September? I've been several times and if anyone is going for the first time I can offer some insight. For the veterans, it'd be great to share beers w/ someone else in between barfines.

I will be in Angeles City Jan 11-17th. This is the "watered down" version as a recent promotion has changed my plans from 15 nights to 6. Damn!

I am a first-timer. Thanks to all who have answered the many questions. Special thanks to (prog)...very helpful posts. I will be staying at the Orchid Inn and they will be providing my ground transportation. I was quoted 1600 pesos each way.

I am flying China Air out of LAX. Paid $700 including all taxes and delivery charges on Travelocity.

I may be in the PI around that time, spending weekends in AC. It doesn't take too long to get the feel for the area as it is small and condensed, though if I am there i would love to give you the "3 hour tour". You will definatly have a god time. I will drop you a note when my plans are firm...

Along with Scooter, there will also be three other Clubhombre mongers in AC during your stay. The other mongers will be myself (progman), Epimetheus, and Xkansan. Scooter's 3-hour tour is a "must-do". He is well connected and got me into the right circles around town.

You sure you can only hang there for 6 days? You're going to want to change that after a few days - believe me. Might be cheaper to do it now! Haha... See you there.

BTW - Did you get a room at the Orchid Inn? If they tell you they're booked ask them to put you on the waiting list.... (prog)

Oops, I see you got into the Orchid. The 1600 pesos is the standard rate the Orchid Inn charges. You just pay the driver after he drops you off. Is your flight the one that lands around 10:35 AM? If so, we'll see you around 2 - 4 (the traffic through Manila can be a bear). If you want we can start you off with a visit down Santos Street (Blow Row). It's a great way to relax during the day... This mirrors a similar first time experience 2 years ago mongering in Costa Rica. Looking forward to it!

Rufus I am looking for an excuse to get to AC. For the most part of my trip I will be in the Pangisinan Provence. It's a long story. I hope I can get down there to hook up with you guys.

Lots of girls in town right now and they are very hungry. Blue Nile still has the hottest girls. A new bar opened up between Volcano and Treasure Island. It's called Silk Stockings. I give it one more week and it'll be loaded with nice girls. Rumor has it the owner is opening up a short-time hotel as well but won't be ready for another month. Santos St. has had a great selection of girls. Black Pearl was hoping last night (well for me at least). I was the only customer and was mobbed. I picked the first girl myself and had the other 6 do a raffle to decide who else was going back to the hotel with us... (prog)

Well I am in the Airport in Taiwan right now returning from you know where so it sounds like a god time as any to start looking for my next trip dates. I was thinking first or second week of April anyways... I only spent one weekend in AC this trip but as usual had a blast, if you are going to be there for a few days why not come down to the beach for a day or two (there is plenty of action to go around and its a nice change of pace).

I left AC on Jan 6 and spent a couple days in Manila waiting for my Volcano girl to show up. Remember her? She was the one I took to the BBQ. She was a no-show and gave me some lame excuse. She did have her brother waiting for me at my hotel but I don't know why. I think he was supposed to relay some message from her but his command of the English language was horrible. I just bought my tickets, for the April trip, on China Airlines - probably the same flights you always take (LAX-TPE-MNL). I'm only going to be in the Philippines for about 6 days so I'm not sure if I can make it over to Subic. I'll keep your offer in mind. Had to cancel my April trip to Angeles City due to unexcepted business trip to Japan. I looked at flying out there after my work was completed but the airfare from either Narita or Nagoya was sky-high so I've re-scheduled the trip all together.

My new dates are: 31 May - 9 June. China Airlines is offering a great deal, through Travelocity.com, at $683.00 R/T (including all taxes and fees)... (prog)
