Wondering if anyone is going to be in AC in July. Looking at getting back from 9-30 July. Just left, but have to get back to put finishing touches on buying the house and also thinking of opening an establishment. If anyone has any advice for the trip or anyone is going to be there let me know.

I will arrive in Manilla the 19th of June for a couple nights. After that I will go to Tacloban, Leyte and then straight up to Biliran Island. Probably stay there a week or so then to Cebu then to Clark around July 1st. Very slight possibility of going to USA July 3rd, depends on some variables, but should be in AC until Xmas holidays. BTW, I'm hoping to do a visa run to Pattaya sometime this year, but I say that every year, I'm just too damn lazy!

I was wondering if there are any gyms or places to workout in AC. I am training for the Mid-West jui-jitsu championship in October.

There are at plenty. Some hotels even have equipment. Make sure to give me a call, I know a couple buddies studying jui-jitsu in AC now.

Loads of gyms but they call them hotel rooms in AC .

Seriously Wickedwilly is another workout honk and he found a decent gym somewhere in AC - perhaps he will chime in with the location. Not that I'll ever find it -- or look for it. I get plenty of exercise in AC without expending useless calories in a gym.

My understanding of working out is that one week you work power, then the next week stamina/endurance--just try to time the stamina/endurance week for when you arrive in AC, then endurance-endurance-endurance!!

Just returned to AC from a week of diving in Bohol. Will be here for at least a week. Anyone want to get together give me a shout.

Got my tickets roundtrip for 14th Jul to 30 Jul. Is anyone going to be around? I actually got tickets from JFK to Bankok and then to Manila. Total cost was $730/ Saved about half so all the ladies will be inclusive of a regular ticket.

Jeez, that's a fantastic fare (pretty damned impossible IMO, actually. Are you flying courier? No FF miles? There's GOTTA be a catch...) for July. How'd you do that? I'm paying almost 500 bucks more and flying from the west coast, which is always cheaper than flying from the wrong coast.

I am flying Courier..... And it works out all total through Bangkok to 757 with tax. So I saved half and that averaged out to about 16 barfines for the trip. I think I will use them up all the first night. So I will be there from 14th-30 Aug.

Bubbles, I'm not so sure "high end" and "manila" really fit in the same sentence. That said, there's no shortage of attractive, fun gals in the Phils. Do a little digging under "World" on the main menu up top - there's plenty of info on where they can be found.

If you want "high end" try Pacific Blue and Dynasty clubs on Roxas. Cover charge for Pacific Blue was 1000P and barfines started at 10,000P. Cover charge for Dynasty was 350P and barfines also at 8000P. Almost certainly the barfines are negotiable. 95% of the girls that were dancing or hanging out at the club were stunners (read: high end). I'm sure there are probably some clubs in the Makati area that have great looking girls also but the above mentioned clubs are the only two that I was in that I would say had "high end" working girls. I hope we don't end up negotiating against each other - I'll be there from 8/28 to 9/3.

I'll be in Angeles City from 31 August until 19 September and plan to spend 4 nights in Subic during that period (probably sep 7-11). It'll be great to hook-up with anyone who'saround at that time.

Wish I was going to Subic to wreck dive again. I don't know if you've been before, but Johan's dive was a good outfit to dive with, however I would stay somewhere else. The walk of shame with a bargirl is unavoidable there.

Damn -- I thought the walk of shame was not being with a bargirl in the Phils.

This will be my first visit to Subic. Based on a trawl though the web, I was indeed thinking of using Johans, both as a dive centre and for his accommodation. I was working under the assumption that I would bring a take-away from AC for the Subic trip, rather than rely on local talent, so the 'walk of shame' does not bother me too much. However, if anyone has any recommendations for reasonable accommodation in that area, that would be very welcome. There is not much up-to-date info in the Subic section on this board.

You could certainly bring company with you. While another guy in the van did this, he hung out with his BG at Johan's but didn't stay there.

The dive operation is great at Johan's, no Phuket style dive boats, just a speed boat. But you're literally from the beach to the dive site in 10 minutes. When you wade in through the shallow water to the beach a waitress takes your dirnk order. The dive masters will talk with you about what site you'd like to go to next and plan it out with the other divers.

The rooms at Johan's were tiny and expensive and seemed like an after thought. The focus is on diving and IMO should just stay as that. Two Englishmen were complaining at the desk that their room locks didn't work, which as you know is no minor detail in the PI. Plus all the trikes congregate right in front of Johan's and revved their engines all night long. It sounded like they were riding through my room.

I ended up getting a standard room at Harley Bar hotel for my barfine (I was only there 1 night) that had more privacy, but it had no windows.

I wish I knew more about Subic hotels, so I could recommend a good one. Please let us know if you find one. Best.

11:30 not late . You'll be in AC by 1 AM and the town's still wide open. Beeline has a car service or use the hotel driver if you don't want to hassel with a taxi and the bus. Who needs that aggravation after a 15 hour flight ??
PB is great . Royal Amsterdam has cheaper jacuzzi rooms if that's what you want . No swimming pool though. Apartelle Royale has a jacuzzi suite as well - again no pool.Wild Orchid Resort also has jacuzzi rooms and has a swimming pool.
I now always stay at PB . You cannot get a better staff to service your needs . Fantastic from front desk to maids to waitresses . Especially the waitresses. They all call you by name after the first time you enter.

I am also staying at PB from Oct 21-31. Beeline set up room and ride. Great place to stay, you will love it.

Ill be back for my 3rd trip in 4 months from 7 Oct to 24 Oct. Staying at Pac Breeze for that time. Spending most of my drinking hours at Geckos. Big Balls give me a note on this and ill call. Hop Pete enjoyed his stay. Looking to drink w some members of the board shot me a reply if ur in town during the time specified above.

Well I started to pack my bags last night. Did a quick run to Walmart for a few last min items. I always pick up about 36 hershey bars for the girls, they love them.
