Can't get in the chat room this morning
Don't know Ben...most likely a problem on Digichat's end. I'm using their hosted service because there software is not compatible with my current operating system. I did notice someone mentioning it took a while to get in last night even though the ChatRoom wasn't full.

Chat was pretty full so I decided to make another room. I was only able to create a private room with a password. Everything worked fine ... how do you kill the room? It seems to survive even though it was empty.
Any way to create other public rooms?
Hombre: The room will disappear eventually, I'm not sure exactly when. That's the only way to create a room that I'm aware of unless I precreate them.

Went into the chat room for the first time tonight. Logged out, closed the 2 windows by clicking on the X. The main CH screen then froze and had to hit the reset button to get out of everything.

LOL. YOU will NEVER get into BUSHWOOD.... I mean Chatroom! YOU are persona non grata! Remember that old line from the Woody Allen movie. "I would never belong to a club that would have someone like me as a member."
You and I would upset the delicate balance of harmonious existence that now permeates the chatrooZzzzzzzzzzz......

What i like best about the chat room is all the San Diego women that come on asking for dates and wanting to meet for drinks and sex.
Today there was this really sexy nympho asking if I knew any ugly big asian that she could fuck and buy beer.
Of course I told her I knew no one of that discription

I get the following in my Java Console when I start Chat. The Chat applet never starts.
Java(TM) Plug-in: Version 1.4.0_01
Using JRE version 1.4.0_01 Java HotSpot(TM) Client
VMDigiChat 3.5.0.624
ChatClient.login()
Message of type 32323020 unknown.
Message: byteCount 778268525
java.lang.OutOfMemoryError
I just installed the Java Plugin (JRE) 1.4.0_01 and I am running XP Home and Netscape 6.2. Any clues?

You were ok earlier in the evening. If that error persists, email me and I'll forward it to DigiChat, personally I have no idea.

Chat Room is currently down (has been all day) due to service on Digichat's end. ETA is a few more hours.

Ongoing Digichat difficulties
If you attempted to login to the ChatRoom on Thursday 8/22, Friday 8/23, or Saturday 8/24, you may have a corrupted version of the Java applet interface cached in your browser.
Unfortunately, Digichat is unable to provide me or the other affected webmasters with a solution on how to clear the Java cache. Their current answer is "it's just a matter of time", but they do not know how much time. The answer could be different for every browser, or worse, every different configuration of every browser.
One solution that is "likely" guaranteed is an update or reinstallation of your browser. This is not a recommendation and shouldn't be done unless you know what you're doing, this is just a possible solution.
You can also try logging into ClubHombre and the Chat Room with a different browser. For example, I can not currently get in with my preferred IE browser, but I can get in with Netscape. (This would not work, of course, if you attempted both during the dates mentioned above) Netscape has it's own set of resource problems on my system, so I probably won't be in the Chat Room much until I can get back in with IE.
Chat Events will be put on hold until I can get most of the regular visitors back in.

Took a lot of back and forth with Digichat support, but I think I finally got it working. They kept telling me to do something, I kept telling them I was doing and it wasn't working. Finally after over an hour the guy broke down and sent me an alternate login script that worked like a charm.
A month ago I would have highly recommended Digichat, since then I haven't been to happy with their support.
If anyone CANNOT get into the chat room, please email me at hombre@clubhombre.com. I am not certain everything is ok yet.

Chat room works for me.
Very glad to have it back, Hombre.
FYI - Windows XP users may be prompted to install the Java Virtual Machine from Microsoft, then be told that they can't give it to you any more (result of lawsuit by Sun). If you go to www.sun.com you can download their Java plug-in for IE that seems to work okay.

Not a bug report but..
I reported a while back that Windows XP no longer had the MS java engine available. So I had to get a java client from Sun. The Sun java client was SLOW - expecially in the chat room. Well, I did another install of XP and suddenly the MS java client is now available again. Court settlement? Anyway, the MS client is much faster. If any of you got stuck with the sucky Sun java client, you may want to uninstall it, go back to the chatroom, and you should be prompted to install the MS client. MUCH better for the chat room.

No Sounds in DigiChat
The sounds function does not work in digichat for me
Sometimes, I sit in there for hours waiting for some lonely monger to talk to me and cheer me up. I liked it when the sounds worked so I could hear when somone entered the chat room. I am using IE 6.0 on Windows XP. I'm using the MS java engine. I was using the Sun engine beofore (for a while), but I can't remember if it worked then, either. I suppose I could go to the Digichat site and get a clue, but I am too lazy.
take care

I have axed Hombre before about sounds in the naked chat room but there is none.
It would be great to get a beep or blip if someone logged in or responded to your post
He looked into it and said sounds were not available

Update on sounds and hyperlinks in chat room. If you use the Java plug-in from Sun www.sun.com - the sounds and hyperlinks work. If you don't have the Sun plug-in, Windows will use the MS Java engine, and sounds, links wont work (at least under Windows XP).
| By MrBill on Saturday, January 25, 2003 - 06:49 pm: Edit |
Yet another update on sounds and hyperlinks in the chat room. Okay, it turns out you can either use the Sun java plug-in OR Microsoft's. It's a bit of a pain, but you can switch back and forth between them.
If you use the Sun java plug-in, instead of Microsoft's, the sounds and hyperlinks work in Digichat. The drawback to Sun's java engine is that it's considerably slower than Microsoft's. Oh, another one is that if you click on any links in your current CH window, it will log you out of the chat room
To switch between the Sun java engine and the Microsoft one (called the Java VM or Virtual Machine) - first you have to install the Sun client - www.sun.com. Once installed, your browser (at least IE) will use it on java-enabled sites by default (like the chat room).
To switch back to the Microsoft java engine, you have to go into the control panel and disable the Sun java client. You also need to disable it in IE (tools > internet options > advanced). Then you must close all your IE windows and log back in to CH (or wherever).
PS - If you got stuck with the java client when the MS java engine was unavailable (I think due to the Sun lawsuit?) - you can now install the MS client - just disable the Sun client and log into the chat room. IE should prompt you to install the MS client, if you don't have it already.
Now, MrBill is one hombre with too much time on his hands...
thanks for reading my post
take care

Seems to be a routing problem blocking access from certain places. I can't get in now either, but according to digichat porker and a few others made it in.
They are looking into it.

I came across a website on clubhumbre that had pictures of girls who worked at various strip clubs and bars.
Does anyone know how I can get back to this site?

Youngman,
at the top of the page is a black header with 9 subject choices. Select Links, then select subject, then escorts or whatever you're looking for. I believe this will be helpful.
