I am thinking that the wealth of info here is kind of overwhelming. I am aware of the newbie guides put up by our resident experts and I certainly plan to used those as my starting point.

However, I feel that often you find many scattered golden nuggets scattered around in reports, replies, posting, etc. I want to create a doc with advice from all sources (giving credit of course). I am taking that with me baby!!! But I figure as long as I am doing it why not make it available to all future newbies and not so newbies visiting LOS?

Is this cool or would that be a no-no?

Since I will be going to BKK soon I am wondering if you can think of a list of pics that would be useful to the site (location of clubs or pics of roads). I know there are some but perhaps you need more or updated ones.

Read my guide on Bangkok and Pattaya. It is about as thorough as you can get and organized. Click under the Bangkok and Pattaya headings under Thailand under Topics(Asia) and you will find it. For massage parlors in Bangkok, just check the individual reviews as I did not go into detail about soapies because I think they are overpriced and the service is mediocre.

Concarne -- If you are creating a file for yourself with what you consider nuggets of useful information , I think you should feel free to post it in the discus section under whatever title you choose. If you use others info I agree you should give credit where due. You sound like you are already creating this document for your own use in your upcoming trip. If you find it useful for yourself, by all means share it .

Concarne, sharing information is what this board is all about (that and a forum to parade our egos about in) I would suggest that you wait to post your compilation until after you have been to LOS. That way you will be in a better position to judge which bits of information were most useful to you as a first time visitor and you can pass that opinion on to the next fellow who will be in your shoes.

Concarne, your idea is a great way. Information is scattered around, so having it compilated would probably be helpful to some. You should definitely try to credit where due, though. As for pics, I don't have ideas for a list but others might. It might just be easier to snap away like crazy and determine later which ones you think are significant.

Blazers does have good guides that you might want to use as a starting point. With the past annual awards, we introduced Guides as a new category of report. We've had plans on database and navigation adjustments to make identification and location of "how-to" guides, but have only completed a little in this area so far.

One of the challegnes you'll find with Thailand is that there are so many places and so much information that you won't be able to cover it all. Different people will find different amounts and different types of information relevant, which is why we are always happy to see a variety of guides written.

McDijj has a good suggestions regarding waiting, or you can post a before and after version to show the differences between what you went with and what you found relevant. As they say in Thailand, "Up to you."
