ClubHombre's Multimedia Utility
ClubHombre's Multimedia Utility is a complex, custom-designed, full featured utility far different than gallery display systems currently available in the public domain or commerically. Because of the long list of features, maintenance of the gallery system is time-consuming and highly intensive, representing on average approximately 10%-15% of total work commitments. The following description applies to the current process for adding photos only, archiving of old photos is a separate, time-consuming, and highly complicated process itself.
The features and processes outlined below also represent improvements that have been made over years in terms of features as well as time-reducing adjustments to the administrative utilities in which many of the manual operations have been automated (e.g. the development of C. Advance Preparation cut minimum processing time by approximately 40%+).

- Parent window linking option for reports and reviews
- Showcase window linking for corresponding photos
- Caption option for photo
- Previous/Next browsing for regular and Showcase galleries
- Country Photos direct link feature available under Jump Menu section of Homebase
- "Most Recently Posted" feature available on Homebase
- "Highest Rated" feature available on Reporter Homepads
- "Total Posted" feature available on Reporter Standouts Page
- "Rating Game" utility for advanced viewing, tracking, and display of numerically rated photos
- "Tally Game" utility for advanced viewing, tracking, and dispaly of vote tallies for photos
II. PHOTO SOURCES & PRIORITY OF PROCESSING
Photos may come from three sources: posted directly, emailed, or FTP'd in. Processing refers to the review of photos and one of four actions: removal, size modification, advance preparation, or full processing(integration). Priority in processing of photos is determined by an "estimated" formula. There is no exact formula, the following numbers are only to give an approximation of the priority of how photos are processed. A higher score means higher priority. Photos with approximately similar scores are processed based on submission date. Scheduling and travel restrictions may cause delays on posting of non-prepared photos.
- Removal of sexually-explicit photos +100
- Request for priority processing +40
- Large set of high-resolution photos +40
- Photos posted directly in the submitting photographers own report +25 (with nudes +35)
- Photos emailed or FTP'd for integration into a report +20
- Photos emailed or FTP'd for integration into a non-report message +15
- Photos emailed by a first time photo contributor +15
- Small set of high-resolution photos +10
- Photos emailed or FTP'd not for integration +5
To give a real-life example, we would normally process a set of high-resolution photos including nudes posted directly by a first-time report writer in his own report (score 90) before we processed low/med-resolutions photos emailed in by past contributor where the photos are not connected to a report or message post (score 5).
III. PROCESSING
Step 0 (Applicable to A, B, & C)
Use Discus Photo Scan Utility to locate all photos that have been directly posted to Discus recently
A. PHOTO REMOVAL/DISABLE INSTRUCTIONS
1. If FTP access is unavailable (e.g. from iCafe) and the photo is in a report, click on Disable link to replace photo with "Removed" graphic
2. If photo is not in a report, edit the message to remove the photo
3. If photo(s) is(are) in report and FTP access is available:
a. Save all photos on corresponding page.
b. Reduce sexually explicit photos to 10 pixels wide, process others normally (See steps C2-C6)
c. FTP all photos into Discus TripReport directory
d. Delete all non-prostitute photos from local directory
e. FTP prostitute photos into processing directory
f. Delete local copies of photos
B. SIZE MODIFICATION INSTRUCTIONS (FTP AVAILABILITY ONLY)
1. Save all photos on corresponding page.
2. Reduce high-resolution scenic photos to 500-600 pixels wide or high, process others normally (See steps C2-C6)
3. FTP all photos into corresponding Discus directory
4. FTP prostitute photos into processing directory
5. Delete local copies of photos
C. ADVANCE PREPARATION INSTRUCTIONS
1. Collect photos into single directory
a. Save all photos on corresponding page. (only if directly posted photos)
b. Save all photos from email or FTP.
2. Crop or obscure where appropriate to mask photographer identity or subject identity (on request)
3. Adjust cropping, brightness, and/or contrast where appropriate to maximize photo quality.
4. For photos that are to be Showcased
a. Reduce maximize width to 800 pixels and height to 600 pixels
b. Rename photos for direct processing
b. FTP photos to showcase directory
5. Reduce maximize height or width to 340 pixels, whichever is greater
6. Fill rectangular photos so that final dimensions are 340 x 340 pixels
7. FTP photos to processing directory
8. Prepare text file for each photo
a. Required fields: Title, Location, Photographer
b. Optional fields: Caption, Link Description, Link URL
c. Update records for photos with the same Title
9. Copy/Paste text file into Gallery Processing Application and Update
D. PHOTO PROCESSING & INTEGRATION
Steps 1-7 same as Advance Processing
8. Open up Gallery Processing Utility
9. If processed photos are for the submitting photographer's own report
a. Edit message if already posted to access report text, otherwise use text provided in emailed/ftp'd report
b. Paste report text into Text Editor
c. open up the Photo Numbering Utility
d. If prior photos exist in report, consult previous chapter or messages for current photo number, otherwise leave at default of 1
e. Paste or type title and number of photos into corresponding fields and click Process
f. Copy generated text from the Photo Numbering Utility results and Paste into corresponding location in the report text
g. repeat steps e & f until the the text for the current report or chapter of report is complete
h. Copy the completed report text and paste into the Edit field or Post as a new message
10. Add all photos
a. Click Add for each photos, selecting Showcase option where applicable
b. Alternatively, 10a may be done in conjuction with steps 9e-9g when processing report photos
Wow, that's some job description. Seems like a job and not a hobby. I hope this is not a hint that things are changing. Even though CH has gone into a OTM site predomonatly- I feel more at home here than TJA - and it's kewl seeing TJ's clubs and alley experience's from other guys.

CH was incorporated in 2001. It is a job, not a hobby.
I've updated the first post to add steps C2 & C3 which can be significant. I also removed the "under contruction" note after the Tally Game utility which was completed this morning.
