Global Long Time/Short Time Pricing Table

ClubHombre.com: -Trip Planning & World Travel-: Global Long Time/Short Time Pricing Table
By Hombre on Tuesday, March 16, 2004 - 03:13 pm:  Edit

Kudos to member Shekwan for this idea, a pricing table comparing average short time/long time across countries. I'll continue to edit this message as the primary table. Please help add to the list and provide suggestions. Also, there is sure to be some debate on prices, so if you disagree, please explain thoroughly.

Note that this is a general pricing guide for comparison purposes only. More detailed discussion of pricing should take place in the country-specific threads. I could link to them from here to help.

STA: Short Time Acceptable

Questions: indicate prices in local currency or US$?
What about different levels at the same location? eg, for Bkk, gogo dancer (barfine+girl fee), vs. beerbar girl (barfine+girl fee) vs freelancer?

I've got some questions along this line.

There has been discussion recently about the comparative prices and "greed" of providers in different locations.

I have an hypothesis that there is a relationship between what a woman could expect to earn through "legitimate" means and what she'll accept for an overnight session.

For example minimum wage in Brazil, as I understand, is about R$250-300/month.
The typical sales girl in the mall or office receptionist can expect this pay.
Well negotiated all night sessions are about half that.

In the US minimum wages run $5-7/hour. That X 160 hours = $800-1200/mo.
But a typical mall girl or entry level office receptionist can expect to make about $1200-1600/mo. And again you can expect to be able to negotiate an overnight session with a US provider for about half that.

Does this hold true as well for various asian locations? Eastern europe? BA, Cali, TJ, Cuba or DR???

The newfound sociobiologist in me thinks there may be a subconcious relationship between what a woman could make on her own in one menstrual cycle, and what reward she'll expect to allow potential breeding opportunities.

Ignore the fact that you're wearing a rubber and she's on the pill...this is a subconcious and emotional response that I'm suggesting.

Does anyone have wage info from these locations that I could plug into this chart to see if I'm onto something?

Good idea I'd like to see a comparison.

Let's also add notes to qualify, I am a big Terma fan and will drop R$100 - R$140 for a ST session with a girl, but there is also the rental of a Cabine or suite. Where the costs are like that, put it down as R$100+60 / R$140+100.

Cuba/Havana

STQ $40-60 USD
STA $20-40 USD
LTQ $40-100 USD
LTA $30-60 USD

Some experience and even a little bit of Spanish goes a long way to get the lower prices.
NEVER admit that it is your first trip there or the chicas will hold to higher prices.

Cuba - other cities
Divide above prices by half.
Current conditions are not conducive to hobbying in other cities as of late 2003.

This may complicate everything but....

It seems to me that typically the world traveller will encounter at least 3 levels of providers. For example, in Thailand you could have SG or beer bar girl (forgive my ignorance here), gogo girl and soapy girl. In TJ would be SG/club girl/MP or escort girl.

I know it could get ugly but maybe there is a way...

Ejack: In Bkk I met one gal who said she used to work in a factory somewhere up-country assembling VCRs for about US$150/month. The going rate for freelancers overnight was $25-50.

Bendejo,

Thanks for your answer....I was beginning to think I hadn't explained my point very well.

If the girl you're talking about is typical it sure doesn't help my theory, but is this girl typical?

Minimum wage appears to be about $80.00/mo in BKK,
a little more in Phuket, and less everywhere else in Thailand. I don't have unemployment statistics yet, but as I recall, most prostitutes come from farming communities in the north or from Burma. Farmers make less than minimum wage, if I'm reading the info correctly.

So does this tell me anything about what a typical 18-22yo girl could expect to earn outside of the sex industry? Not really. But I'd guess the girl you met was getting well above typical. Still, I've never been there and really don't know. I'm still hoping for more info from as many different countries as possible to see if there is any correlation.

Thanks again for your answer.

I donīt have all that data -- hey, short-time is short enough!
Take it that if a girl is uneducated and enterprising short of being a hooker or a criminal, she can make that much.

Maybe right, but remember, almost by definition you've excluded most sex workers.

Sex work is generally something a girl does when she's either in a financial fix, or lazy and looking for the easy money.

We've all heard the stereotypes of working girls..."they're druggies," (okay, some are), "they were molested or abused," (some, I'm sure), "they have self-esteem problems" (this is actually fairly frequent)...etc. But I've met way too many girls who don't fit these stereotypes.
The one that I actually buy into is that they are girls who look for short term solutions to their immediate situations.

Addition to the list:
Cambodia STQ $5-$10, STA $3-$10, LTQ $20-$30, LTA $15-$25
Prices are in USD

Also, as mentioned before, there are different price levels for different venues. Take for example Tijuana. A bar girl at Adelita will ask for $50-$60 for short time, while a street girl will ask for $20-$30. Should this be added to the list? It depends on how complete we want the list to be.

The Cambodia prices above are for Phnom Penh.

I am thinking that this prices are on the hi side still....certainly the TJ ones and perhaps the LOS a little bit.

I am going to the DR in a few and will come back with comments on that.
