I am undecided about my next trip. I only have about $1500 to spend after airfare and hotel for 5 days. Any suggestions?? My choices are:
Colombia
Dominican Republic
Panama
Peru

You can easily do Panama on $200 a day or less. Also, stay at a cheap (but okay) hotel for $20-$25 per night and you can save even more.
Be sure to study the threads on Panama so you have a gameplan before you get there...5 days will go by quickly...donīt need to be wasting time trying to figure-out where to go once you get there.

Out of those, the DR is probably the cheapest, Colombia has the best quality. 5 days is a short trip, so budgeting $300 per day is more than plenty, assuming none of that goes toward your hotel. That would even do you well in Costa Rica.

An important factor you left out is how many dates you intend to schedule per day.
Having been to all four, I would personally prefer them in this order: Colombia, Peru, Dominican Republic, Panama.

For five day's of sun, sin, and fun, I would go to Cartagena, Colombia; of your list of countries.

I know Rio is not on your list but I'd go to Rio and do 2 termas a day, 2 shots a day. Go to a terma at 5:00 pm, second terma at 8:00 pm. After second shot, since you're out of ammo moneywise, I'd head to a regular disco with little hope, just do some candy watching.
