The vast majority of katoeys in Thailand are butt ugly and obvious former dudes. It's the relatively rare exception that can really pass for a girl even on casual inspection. The katoey who passes for a girl on close up and personal inspection is rarer than hen's teeth IMHO.

That being said , I have chronicled in prior Thai trip reports two very close encounters with one pre op and two post op former dudes. Never got to the bumpin ugly stage but came close once. I'd also say that although height is one factor to take into consideration when trying to discern someone's original gender, by no means would I say "most" poo ying taller than 5-2 are actually men.
