I'm looking to go on a vacation this August for 2-3 weeks. Currently my budget is $5,000 USD not including airfare. I get free airfare to most major international airports so the price of travel isn't really a factor. I want to travel to a country that is relatively friendly towards Americans, has a USD friendly exchange rate, good food, and friendly women. An area with nice beaches or hiking would also be nice but not a requirement.
Some random info that maybe pertinent:
-23 year old, Asian/Caucasian mix.
-College student.
-I only speak English.
-I have some international travel experience, enough to know where to keep my money and how to avoid getting robbed but not enough to feel comfortable without some sort of guidance every so often ( a good concierge is usually sufficient).
So what are your suggestions for travel destinations, also what other advice do you have. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks in advanced.

Like you I am Asian/Caucasian mix, but older. I would suggest Rio de Janiero and definitely use Don as a guide. Bwana Dik's Rio guide is by far the best written manual ever published on the subject and should have a place in the Smithsonean. Plus you have enough time to get Brazilian Visa arranged. I suggest Brazil not because it is cheapest, but there is a strong crew of American guys down there that don't mind helping newbies out as long as they don't act like cunts.
I would not suggest Thailand as a first time trip. It can be very overwhelming and there is a lot of unwritten rules. Plus less American presence, the Brits are cool guys but can be down right cunts when they are drunk.
Either way, it is usually much more fun to travel with a friend, but if not, you can't go wrong with Rio.

Rio is certainly a great place to explore if you're really looking for beaches and hiking (in addition to other things). If you hang out with Don and the boys, you'll not suffer from culture shock. Eventually you'll go to Thailand, but Rio will meet all your current needs.

I tend to agree that Rio is an awesome first time location, but I also think the same about Thailand. In Thailand the P4P scene is so out in the open with thousands of bars, especially Pattaya. It is about as obvious in Pattaya as it gets. Personally I would recommend either Rio or Pattaya, but not Bangkok. I think Bangkok is a little boring during the day and both Rio and Pattaya offer an entire day long experience. Pattaya is about as touristy as it gets...I would say there are probably as many foreigners - from Germans, English, American's, etc - as Thais in the streets at any given time :-)
But Thailand is faaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrr...aye, that freakin' flight just to get there is a major pain in the ass.
While the stock market is still so so, the currency exchange rate is good for both locations. Actually it just went from excellent to good for Rio (It peaked at about 2.5 to 1 in December to just 2:1 currently)
If you enjoy more things then just mongering, then I would think Rio is more fun with some guidance.
I think the main influencing factor is the amount of time you mention - a 2-3 week vacation. There are plenty of things in Rio to keep you busy outside just mongering. That really cannot be said about too many other main monger locations.
On the food side, either Thailand of Rio. I was just in Pattaya a couple of months ago and now they even have a Brazilian BBQ right by the new mall that was built...
Cost wise, however, it is back to Rio....those freakin' bar fines and lady drinks in Thailand can set back your budget quickly.....
Age wise, Rio has an awesome nightlife for your age (or any). Asian's and Caucasians are generally very welcomed. It should be noted that Brazil (Specially Sao Paulo) is home to the largest Japanese population outside of Japan.
In the end and most importantly your (converted :-) dollar will be very welcomed... the great age and race equalizer.

The more you monger in a specific location the more financially efficient you will become making it easier to stretch your budget to cover an extended stay while also scoring more action.
As a nubie you might get 2-weeks for $5K as a first-time mongerer, but I doubt you'll get 3-weeks for that amount of money.
Unless you get help finding an affordable, yet good hotel from someone in the club, your first soaking will be from the cash you pay-out for a place to stay.
Hopefully, once you determine your mongering destination someone in the club familiar with that specific location will personally mentor you and recommend an affordable place or two to stay.
Otherwise, you will have no choice but to seek a place on-line that advertises (all the big global hotels Marriott, Hilton, Sheraton etc.) and their advertisement costs will be passed on to you at a rate of $100 or more per night. (Their rooms are nice, but every extra dollar you give them from your budget obviously reduces how much slap and tickle you can buy on your trip).
If you wait until you arrive at your destination to ask around for a cheaper, yet nice place, you will literally be at the mercy of your cab driver and the locals who don't give a rat's ass to help you stay within your budget.
The next soaking you will likely take is paying for all of the regular incidentals you will need such as food and drink, cab fare, entrance fees or covers, bribes to the corrupt traffic cop, tips, phone calls, Internet Cafe fees, casino, etc. For example, being new to an area you will not know where to go to eat. Locals and hotel staff will automatically assume you are a wealthy American and that you require 5-star dining. They will point you to the most expensive places that charge US prices. In addition, a newbie will justifiably try to be more cautious when selecting a place to eat, therefore, they will be less likely to venture over to the little hut with smoke rising out of the roof for that great "meat-on-a-stick" and ice cold Coke for a buck.
The next soaking you are more apt as a nubie to experience is negotiating with local talent for a fuck. We Americans are conditioned by US business to pay the asking price for everything, (with exception to buying junk at yard sales or buying a used car from our neighbor or cousin). Before you go know the going rate. But chances are, unless you are a good poker player and have mentally prepared yourself to negotiate a "truly fair-deal" you will over pay by as little as 30% (I'd be impressed) and I have seen some pay as high as 300% above the going rate or even more to fuck a pro (and then they will fight like hell in their trip report to justify why she was worth it..."poor thing had a sick baby at home being cared for by a blind grandmother").
Actually, the true reason why most people choose to over-pay is they don't want to piss-off the hooker and end-up getting bad service. (tip: In Latin cultures a person who negotiates a bargain down to the fair and going rate earns repect. The chica will probably fuck you better at the going rate than she will if you over-pay her and lose her respect). But also, don't go to the other extreme and try to pay less than the going rate (sword cuts both ways).
In addition, pure mongering for an extended period becomes rather lonely and tedious while you wait for your batteries to recharge. Therefore, you either die from boredom in your hotel room between fucks, or you go out and explore your surroundings like a regular tourist. Regular tourists can barely tour anything without spending money. Since you probably will not want to tour alone, you might ask the chica you banged last night to hang-out with you. While touring with her you are not fucking her, but you will pay her regardless and also pay twice for all of the touristy stuff as a couple. (Unless you can find a non-pro to lower your overhead...but that is another discussion).
Recommend you read-up on the various possible locations. Consider distance & travel time, Visa (entry) requirements, language, crime rate, cost to medivac your ass out if you get injured or become sick, exchange rates vs places that use US money, also, find-out what the prevailing attitude towards Americans is like, and above all, know if prostitution is legal where you plan to go and/or be sure to read the fine print regarding prostitution and the law at your destination.
Then pick a location and come back and ask for the specifics. I guarantee you will find at least a few experts who specialize in your area of interest.
My bag is Panama.
Good luck.

You only speak English.
One more piece of advice.
Get an electronic translator. Before going to Panama I think I knew as much Spanish as Bono/U2...uno, dos, tres, catorce.
Once I had my translator I could quickly find the word I needed to give my counterpart a general idea what I was trying to say.
Today I speak Survival Spanish with 500+ words and I no longer need to carry a translator in my back pocket.
A good one might cost you $50-$75 and a cheap Franklin is around $20.

I prefer Bangkok to Pattaya. Bangkok is a world-class city with all sorts of stuff to do, along with the mongering. Pattaya is exclusively for mongering, maybe with some golf thrown in. Pattaya is a bit cheaper though, and some people like this. It also has more in-your-face mongering places, but Bangkok certainly has enough.
But everyone is different. Maybe time for a poll on this subject.
