I had a great time in Bulgaria, the women are beautiful to my surprise, I think that Bulgaria is one of the best kept secrets in the world. Meny men do not know about the beauty and innocence these women bring to the table. It sort of that warm GFE experience they will all give you. If you go in the summer DO NOT MISS an hour flight to Varna; it is a resort town, but it only happens during the summer months, in winter it is a very dead and quiet part of town..TOOO COLD!

I can surely say this, I went to Bulgaria last summer, and the girl I met treats me like I was the king of the world, she turned out to be a model for a local lingerie magazine. She never told me this until I saw a picture of her at a local mall ~grin. The mongering spots are al over, any cabdriver can take you, but you will soon realize that it may not be necessary as women wil be all over you if you are an American.

What was the language barrier like for you?

ShyGUY..Language was not a problem for me as many women learn English in grade school in Bulgaria. You will find that 90% of people are tri-lingual and English is a commonly spoken language in Sofia and Varna which are the two major tourist destinations. If the girls cannot speak English, trust me they can surely speak the language of love ~grin.

okay, back from six days in sophia.
Here is a list with brothels This info can be also found the tourists guides you'll receive in the main hotels. The tourist guide consists of a the normal sightseeing booklet and a night guide. The nightguide contains not only the brothel addresses but also listings of strip clubs, etcetera. I only checked out the brothels. 5 of the 13 that are listed. All of them looked like normal appartments from the outside. Sometime the house number is not indicated. Just check the numbered house on the left and right and count. On the door you will find no indication. You'll have to follow your intuition. It might be the bell with no name or the bell with a color. Best thing is to first phone them. Usually someone of the staff will talk some english. Ask wich doorbell you should push. All the brothels charged 60 leva (just under 30 USD) per hour. You can enjoy the service in the brothel or ask the girl to come to your flat. I found most brothels a bit messy. If you have a flat take the girl there. Also I recommend to go to the brothel, pick a girl and than go to your place. The first time I called the brothel, gave a request and ordered a girl to come to my place. (It was the brothel called Erika). She came with a bloke that i found kind of intimidating. She did not meet at all the discription that was given on the phone. The interpreter did meet my requests, but she was not available. I felt cheated. Told them that i did not want to use the service. They wanted me to pay their taxi. After some arguing they went away. If the bloke would have been in a bad mood it might have ended differently. Going to the club and pick your girl is so much easier. Taxi's are cheap.

my first attempt. It was around twelve at night. no clear number on the building. It is the building on the corner. The entrance is not on 32 Prague Blvd but just around the corner. There is also good street action if you have a car or are staying near one of the arterial roads - typically 10lb (US$5) for a short time.

For those of you who can read/speak Bulgarian, pick up a copy of "Noshten Trud" and peruse the ads... also, there's some good pickings to be had in the relax classified of "24 Chasa" - Sofia's tabloid daily.

Stay away from the "Night Bars" unless you are on an expense account. Yes, the "Erotic Bar" has some real lovelys, but the girls main interest is to get you to buy drinks, not to arrange a hook-up.

I'm puzzled by the previous poster claiming English is widely spoken...my experience is that if Bulgarians speak a foreign language, it's Russian. Exceptions, of course, were around the upmarket hotels and shops.

I had to pretty much had to take a crash course in Cyrillic & Bulgarian to get anywhere.

Flying to Bulgaria from the west coast is a tough nut. My strategy is to fly to Istanbul, then take a bus ride to where I want to go. A bit long for the eastern part of the country, but I like the Black sea coast better anyway.

I'm a newby here and thought I'd make a little contribution. I've been to Bulgaria 5 times since December of 2001 and can confirm some of what is above.

Traveling from Sofia, to Pazardjik, to Plovdiv it is very common to see groups of 2-5 "street girls" standing alongside highways a few miles outside of town. Typically, you just pull up and get the attention of the girl of choice and they'll hop in and direct you down a dirt road away from the main road. Sometimes you get lucky and find students who just need a bit of extra cash, but more commonly they're regulars who are well used. Feminine, graceful, and attractive...but well used. I've paid between 10 and 50 lev (including tip) for various types of service.

Taxi drivers are always a good source of info and even a smaller city like Pazardjik I was able to find a small brothel (3 girls...only 1 was hot). Advice: Get the number of a dispatch taxi service and use them whenever possible. Independent taxis will overcharge whenever they think they can get away with it. You can i.d. them because they won't have a dispatch telephone number of their cars.

You should at least learn the cyrillic alphabet to get around competently. The most common languages spoken are bulgarian, russian, english, german and to a lesser extent french. Americans are very popular there contrary to what you might hear on the news about europe in general.

Street crime? It's there, but I felt safer wandering the streets of Sofia and Plovdiv after dark than I ever have in Detroit or Lansing:-) The police are basically honest (with exceptions, of course) and I've always found a good attitude mixed with firmness clears alot of barriers.

Airline tickets? I talked to my agent earlier this year and she said that their medium sized agency had sold 50,000 tickets to Bulgarians in the US to fly home to visit in the summer. May thru August is homecoming time, I guess. The tickets are there, you just gotta plan in advance.

1.69/BG Lev was equal to $1/US the last time I was there in May '03. Caution though, the Lev was 2.21 to $1/US when I was there in Jan of '02. There economy is improving due to NATO membership and upcoming European Union membership in a few years.

As for mongering, my experience is limited to quickies with street girls, and a few independents that I've met in Plovdiv and Sofia...they were "turkish" belly dancers by trade, but would go the extra mile if the right amount offered. I've had far better luck just meeting girls in outdoor cafe's. In fact, I even married one last year and I have no regrets. She says that what she doesn't know won't hurt her and I'd damn well better make sure she doesn't find out, otherwise I'll be paying HER for the priviledge!:-))))

It has been a long time since anyone posted here. Well i will post a bit. I just got back from a couple days in Sofia. I did not monger, but I did get some info, some of which is in conflict with some of the stuff here, especially in the area of price. I recieved info from a friendly cabbie. I will go back in a couple of weeks for a strictly mongering trip.
