Here’s the 411 on Madrid. Basically there’s 4 ways of mongering in that beautiful city.
I’ll list them from most expensive to least.

1) Fancy Strip Clubs/Escort Agencies (or how to throw your $ away)

Try the fancy strip bars that cater to tourists and businessmen. These are places like Showgirls and others (they advertise on the guia del ocio, available every Friday on newsstands or the internet at www.guiadelocio.com). Here you’re likely to spend several hundred dollars on champagne bottles and tips for the dancing girls and probably not get laid.

Try the expensive escort agencies like datelight (www.datelight.com). Note: when you talk to the guy on the phone be very specific on your desires. Be firm in what you want (like if the girl on the web-page doesn’t show then you don’t pay, etc…).

2) Newspaper Ads

The Madrid dailies are full of escort, massage, transvestite ads and pictures of beautiful models. I’ve been traveling to this city at least twice yearly for the last 5 years and the ads (and pictures) haven’t changed but the working girls have.

In most cases the ads are for outfits that do business in apartment buildings. The manager (or mamasan like the AMP in the US) is generally Spanish but the working ladies are from Latin America (Colombia, Ecuador, Peru) or Eastern Europe (Poland, Russia, Romania). The prices range from $5000 to $25000 pesetas. They provide Full Service but in almost all cases the girl described (or pictured) in the ad “conveniently is not working at that hour or that day”. Remember, the ad in the newspaper is to entice you to make the phone call and the manager will try her best to entice you to visit the place or she’ll offer to send a lady to your hotel room for a slightly higher fee.

If you do visit one of these places pay close attention to the area of the city where the apartment building is located. Ask for directions. The Madrid metro map comes in handy. If you’re unfamiliar with Madrid you’re better off visiting them during the daytime hours than during the evening.

Be firm on what you want, ask for the prices and services beforehand, don’t pay until you’ve seen all the working ladies and have made a selection. If you meet one you like go for it, if not say that you were expecting the Miss Universe advertised in the newspaper but since she’s not working then you’ll visit another day.

3) Puticlubs or Bares de Copas

The highways and big cities of Spain have what are called bares de copas or clubs. These are places with working girls where the house wants to make $$$ by selling high-priced drinks to the customers. The working girls want to make $ by catching the fancy of the customers. Some bares de copas have an admission fee disguised as a minimum drink policy and others have free admission.

The working girls were Latin (Ecuador, Colombia) and Eastern European (Romanian, Russian) with a few Western Africans (Sierra Leone). The price for the drinks were like $2000 or $3000 pesetas (more than $10 USD), $5000 pesetas for 1 drink for a lady (while you got to sit with her in a mini-secluded area while she gulped the drink in two swallows), and $20,000 pesetas (>$100 USD) for a half-hour in the upstairs rooms (full service). The prices being too high we only had our 1 drink, caught the show and left.

It helps if you know a local Spaniard who can take you to the bares de copas outside Madrid (they’re located in the surrounding small towns in the Comunidad de Madrid). Here you’ll find mostly Colombian (or Brazilian) girls and the prices will be more affordable (from $5000 to $10000 pesetas for Full Service).

4) Madrid’s Mother Lode of Working Girls

In 2001 a savvy buddy of mine took me on a tour of the mother lode of working girls in Madrid: Casa de Campo. Casa de Campo is a big country park (bigger than New York’s Central Park) about 10 minutes south of Madrid’s Gran Via. There's more than FP
in Madrid. In fact, I just got back and saw two much simpler options. Simpler, that is, than travelling a fair distance out of the city to one of the large brothels.

First, there is a lot of SW action starting early in the afternoon. They are lined up on the street just off the Puerta del Sol, two east of Avenida preciosa. If you are at Puerta del sol, you can't miss this street. You walk it a couple blocks up to Gran Via, and you go through a crowd of them. I didn't approach them, so I don't know prices.
